Dear Families,
This week the children put on their hard hats and became construction workers. They learned about the different types of tools construction workers use as well as the different trucks and machines. In small group this week the children were able to take plastic tools and use them to paint with. The children had a blast with this activity and their final products are currently on display outside our classroom! Currently the construction for the new addition is outside our classroom, so the children have been able to see the different machines up close! Since there was such a strong interest in construction and building we will be continuing this unit through next week.
Please continue to send in family photos as well as the technology forms. I believe I have almost everyone's, but if I do not have a form from your child I will place a copy in their backpack again this week.
***Car Riders***
Our new drop off system begins this week! Starting on TUESDAY, please bring your child to door 12 (if you are facing the building, door 12 is the double door to the right of the main entrance). Those doors will automatically open at 8:35 and 12:40, you must wait outside until they do. Once inside you must find your child's class clipboard to sign them in. Then a teaching assistant will take your child to class. It might not be your child's teacher, but all of the teaching assistants know where the children need to go. The doors will close and automatically lock at 8:45 and 12:50, if you come past that time you must go through the main entrance. When you are dropping off your children please remember to wait outside and NOT in the office.
The drop off system will be similar to pick up, all the children will be waiting with the teaching assistants, by class. You will enter in door 12 and have your I.D ready. All the assistants have been asked to check I.D (even they have seen you before). After showing the assistant your I.D you must sign your child out on their class sign in/out sheet which the assistant will have. The doors for drop off will open at 11:25 and 3:25, then will automatically close and lock at 11:35 and 3:35, if you are not there with in those times you must go through the main entrance. Again please wait outside and NOT in the main office.
PICTURE DAY!!! September 10 and 11
Picture day is this week! For our friends who come Monday, Wednesday, Friday or Tuesday, Thursday you will have picture day on Thursday or Friday depending on when your child is in school. The children who come Monday-Friday their days are split up alphabetically. On Thursday September 10, children with the last names A-N will have their picture day. On Friday September 11, children with the last names M-Z will have their picture day. Please send in the picture forms this week. If you choose not to purchase any photos, your child will still need their picture taken in order to create our whole class photo.
