Week of September 21-25

This week the children finished out our unit on zoo animals. The children did a lot of fun sorting activities. At large group time the children had to sort insects and animals into two groups. We had a great discussion about what makes an insect an insect and what makes an animal an animal. The children also sorted animals based on their habitat; water and land.

At work time Mrs. Benefiel has been working with the children on writing their name. We have already seen some amazing changes in the children's handwriting! This will continue through this coming week.

With the change in the season, this coming week the children will be learning about apples. The children will be discovering the different parts of the apple and understanding the different purposes. We will also be talking about making simple patterns with apples at small group time.
