We are in the home stretch of the first quarter. It's hard to believe that almost 9 weeks of school has gone by and it has been amazing to see how much your children have already grown! This week we will be having the Pup Strut event on Thursday and Friday. The children will be participating in a fun obstacle course, bike race, and free time on the play ground. Each student will receive a shirt, the children who come M-F will get the wear the shirts on Thursday and Friday, but will not bring the shirts home until Friday.
The children had a wonderful time participating in the homecoming spirit week, they came to school with great pajamas, costumes, and funky hats! Next week on Tuesday, September 27th, both AM and PM classes will be having their warm fuzzy celebrations. Warm fuzzies are our whole class motivation system, the children work together as a team to fill up a jar with "warm fuzzies" they earn these as a whole team. Once the reach the top of the jar the whole class wins a warm fuzzy pajama party, so please send your child to school in their pajamas on Tuesday, September 27th and have them bring a favorite stuffed animal to talk about at large group time.
In the classroom this week we will be doing a fun sorting leaves and coins activity. While learning about sorting, the children have been the directors of how each activity goes. We have been placing out different materials for the children to sort and then the children get to opportunity to sort in a way that they know. This has lead to some great discussions about the different ways to sort objects. What is wonderful about this approach is that each child is able to participate in the activity to no matter what level they are at!

- If you would like to volunteer, you MUST complete a background check, which takes between 4-6 weeks to be processed. If you are interested in coming to volunteer at only point this year, this would be a great time to get your background check completed. Background checks are good for 3 years, if you are not sure if you background check is still good, please send me an email and I can check for you
- Yankee Candle Fundraiser
- Yankee candle order forms and catalogs have been sent home, they are due on MONDAY!
- If you order via catalog vs. online you will need to pick up your order on November 8th & 9th, if you order online your candles will be delivered right to your house!
