Week of August 15th-19th

Hello Families,

Happy Monday!The children came back to school with such great energy, even though it was a rainy day. Today we were able to play in the gym for the first time this school year. The children will able to ride trikes, play with balls, and ride on scooters. We are continuing to work on identifying letters at small group time. This week we will be making the letters of our names and friends names using the different types of writing strokes. We will be talking about and making big and little lines, and big and small curves. We will also be getting messy with some paint this week. We will be making letters and stamping them with paint as well as finger painting to create numbers and dots.

At large group the children learned the "Ants Go Marching" song and marched around the classroom in different ways. We marched slow, fast, loud, and soft. We have also been continuing to learn more about yoga and how yoga helps calm our bodies down. So far we have learned a few different poses, such as, child's pose, tree pose, cat pose, and cow pose. The children are doing a wonderful learning how to control their bodies and know when it is time to move their bodies fast or slow.

• Please fill out your child's information sheet found in the green folder (if you didn't fill it out at back to school night) this information will help us through out the school year

• We will be having an IN SCHOOL field trip on August 26th at 10:30am and 1:30pm

•  Order forms will be sent home in your child's backpack, if you would like to order pictures, please send out the forms and return them to school WITH the payment!
