Hi Families,
We had a very exciting week, Kasey the fire dog and taught us about life and fire safety. Kasey came on Thursday and Friday and showed us how to be safe during a fire. She taught us how to stop, drop, and roll, what to do when you see a fire, and to never play with matches/lighters. The children really enjoyed seeing Kasey do some fun tricks and even got to pet her at the end of the presentation.
This week the children did a lot work with their fine motor skills. At small group the children made salt paintings with their names. At large group the children pretended to be bears that were hibernating, which they learned about when we read the book The Bear Snores On. The children pretended to wake up from hibernation and had to go out and find food (letters) that had been scattered all over the floor. We had a lot of fun with this activity and many of the children pretended to be move like a bear the rest of the day!
This coming week the children will be doing some fun movement activities at large group. At small group they will be doing an Art to Remember project.
