This week the children learned about apples. At the sensory table the children played with oatmeal, cinnamon sticks, baskets, and plastic apples. They put on their bakers hats and created all sorts of yummy treats! The children worked on their patterning and counting skills too. At small group time the children helped finish and create patterns of apples. At large group time we took a vote on our favorite apple and figured out if more friends liked red apples or more friends liked green apples. During work time the children were able to look at the inside of an apple and noticed the different parts. Next we will continue working with and learning about apples. The children will be doing some apple printing and reading the book, "Ten Apples Up On Top".
Pup Strut:
The children had an amazing time at pup strut. Thank you to all the families who volunteered and made that event run so smoothly! The children loved all the fun activities. The children will be receiving their pup strut ribbons this week, so please look for them in their folders.
School Pictures:
School pictures are in! I will be sending them home tomorrow and Tuesday. Currently we only have the individual pictures, the whole class pictures are still be creating.
Conferences:
Conferences are this Wednesday and Thursday (10/7 & 10/8) I will be sending conference date and time reminders home with the children this week. When coming for conferences, I will place chairs outside the classroom door so that you are able to sit until it is time for your conference. The conferences are only 15 minutes long. To honor everyone's time I would like to try and keep those conferences to the 15 minutes, if more time is need I will be able to schedule more time during the end of the week or after fall break.
Fall Break:
One more week until fall break! The BECC will be closed for school October 12-23.
